Kanaya has been Ported out. To those who didn’t have the huge pleasure of meeting her, she was a Troll from Alternia and she was one of the few imPorts from the City who were still here. She has helped me and imPorts a lot, to uncover important information and share her own. She was also a good friend, who always helped me from the moment I arrived. [ kaneki doesn’t deal well with loss at all. But he will suck it up right now. ] The City meant a lot to her, in a very bad way. [ it was a traumatizing experience ] And as the last imPorts of the City are slowly leaving and knowledge of that place is fading away, I think she’d want those who are not from there to know about it. Because it matters.

It’s the home of Lachesis, after all, and where it all started. This was all told to me by Kanaya and few other people. Though, if someone wishes to correct me on it, feel free. [ maybe this time someone will be willing to share something? Maybe not. ]

I will call that place “Alpha Universe” and the “Alpha City”. There, Lachesis was in control of a Porter and she ruled the world as she pleased; I can tell you a lot about Lachesis powers, from rewriting history to building new countries, but when you control a machine capable of altering space and time, there is little you can not do. But even all her might and power did not save her world from being bitten away.

She begun to bring imPorts in on 10th October 2008 and at the time she was hidden behind a figure that claimed to be Iron Man. [ Tony Stark, yes ] but once the very same Tony Stark was Ported in, that identity became shaky and eventually Lachesis revealed herself. Her reasoning was always difficult to pin point, but she always did what she's doing here: she brought in people from other universes. There, she used them to do her bidding, whatever it was; in a way, the imPorts were her knights, ether they liked it or not. Unlike like this place, she was much vocal and downright megalomaniac. [ perhaps he shouldn’t be saying this out loud, ooops ]

A lot happened in that world, I've extensive history on it and it's ironic how some things are just so similar to this one. I can tell you that world was destroyed in December 2013 of their calendar, and this destruction was the work of a group by the name of Vulcanus, and ultimate Lachesis own sister, Atropos. Vulcanus was a group of people who wanted to send all imPorts home, and when they couldn't do that they attempted to take their powers through kidnapping and experimentation, and after attempted to put imPort under their heels. Since it didn't pay out, the answer was to kill all imPorts, leading to a fight that took them across multiple universes.

Vulcanus had access to a Porter, where they locked up one of Lachesis sisters, Clotho. With it, they built their perfect world, New Vesuvius, where they had been successful in exterminating imPorts and enslaving the ones left. Though Clotho helped imPorts as she could, this only caused Vulcanus to grow angrier at the audacity, and so they went further: they searched for the last sister.

Atropos is the last of the three Fate Sisters and she’s the one who cuts the string of life, which is very fitting considering what she did to the Alpha World. Possibly using Clotho, Vulcanus brought into Alpha World this last Fate and she bit it half. She destroyed everything – the oceans evaporated, the moon broke, everything became ruins, and while imPorts tried to survive Vulcanus was there to kill them off one by one. Lachesis was forced to abandon her universe in order to save herself and she brought along some of the imPorts to this world, leaving behind Vulcanus and Atropos. Who are still there.

When this world’s government says they are afraid of something coming through this Porter, they mean them. I hope you'll understand why.

If you have any questions, I will try answering. [ since a lot of people from the City prefer not to ] All I have is Kanaya's testimony and I was not in the Alpha City, so I can't tell you my personal experience. Only hers.

[ At first, imPorts are greeted to a nice, long look at the Narrator’s face. He is, by all means, the most non-descript imPort here: he is a bland looking white man wearing black rimmed glasses, and a brown tweed suit, with a square jaw and pronounced cheekbones. There is little unattractive about him, but little attractive about him either. He looks, curiously, like a stock photo of a British man, like a professor or a doctor in one, irrelevant scene in a movie, or in Hollywood, a Leading Man.

As soon as he realizes the video function is on, he switches to voice, and what comes out of him is a deep, urbane British accent, with the air about him that he’s laughing at some private joke that nobody else could possibly get.

Perhaps he’s laughing at you. ]

Well. This is a different sort of game I have found myself in, isn’t it? It’s shabby and poorly constructed in a few areas, but this, this story is workable. Less philosophical, but all that means is that I have my work cut out for me. I must admit, I wasn’t altogether pleased when I found myself here, but improvisation isn’t a lost art, not so long as I have something to say about it. Hmmm.

[ There’s a rustling of paper. ]

What it lacks in cohesiveness, a true beginning and end, it makes up for with its cast. You’re quite an interesting bunch, aren’t you? An ensemble cast, if you will. I must do some catching up, but I already see plenty of colour. Prodigious use of capslock - always a sign of an unstable mind, if you ask me - advertising for psychiatric help, which will never work on the truly deranged, unnecessary chatter about holidays meant only to provide some framework to the dull morass of days that makes up one life, and -- ass eating? Oh, my. That's going to up our ratings.

I'll make the best of it regardless. We're going to have an awful lot of fun together, you and I.

I've always found it interesting how different magic seems to be from world to world- Has anyone thought of seeing how spells from different worlds interact with each other? I wouldn't mind organizing such a meeting, if people are interested- I could arrange something far away from any populated area, so we don't have to worry about accidents. [Because Sabriel's been in this world long enough to know how often those happen when imPorts are involved. But she presses on, keeping her tone bright and cheerful.]

And on the subject of magic- it's been a while since I offered to take on students. I can teach imPorts Charter magic- it's a form of magic that's fairly common in my world, and it's worked through symbols and passed through baptism, rather than birth. It can be used to many ends- to heal, to protect, to incapacitate without harm, or destroy- although even in a place like this, there's generally more use for healing than fireballs. [And then her tone becomes more serious.] I have no intention of teaching anyone necromancy, it's caused enough problems here already. [She doesn't need to go into depth about what happened- anyone who was around for the mess with the clones will know, and her voice brightens again.]

I won't claim Charter magic is easy- it takes time and dedication to master, is not kind to those who attempt it carelessly, and it doesn't mix well with technology. But not every imPort's powers are useful in every situation, and we can always use more healers.

I should probably also mention that RISE is also recruiting, if anyone's interested.

An assortment of talents are sought but in particular sought qualifications include:

• Super Strength
• Power nullification
• Whatever counts as "crowd control" in video games
• A soothing disposition
• Being sane, but sane-sane, not "sane" in a way that makes you think costumed vigilantism is a good idea
• high resistance to mental torture or magic in general
• Actual experience in event security?

The ideal candidates thinks there's no such thing as gods and that I'm full of shit, but is miraculously able to keep their fucking mouth shut about it for 40$ an hour

her hair's pinned up into a messy green bun atop her head, and she's wearing bright pink chanel sunglasses, which are probably familiar to some (like reggie). she stares from behind them for a few moments, but then pushes them up atop her head. for those that have never met her in person, she has surprisingly striking heterochromia, one of her eyes a bright, startling gold.

Hey, so, just getting an idea here, but how many people out there like doing.. outdoors-y stuff? I mean hiking, canoeing, biking, camping, that kind of thing? Or if you don't do it, would you be into it with a guide that knows what the fuck they're doing?
