WILL YOU HELP SAVE THE WORLD?

Mask or Menace is a panfandom urban 'superhero' genre DWRP game, where heroes, villains, and everyone in between seek to survive and thrive in a world loosely parallel to our own.

[ With so many of them here it's impossible for those same modes of thinking not to follow along with them. Thrawn has actually done his level best not to comment on any of the politics that have come from that galaxy far, far away. He has his own opinions on Jedi, Sith and everything in between. However his is the unique position of having a homeworld that has not, at least not in his lifetime, been ravaged by war.

But all of that is for another place and time. This is a much simpler, and yet so much more difficult post.

When the video starts it's simply Thrawn in that same sitting room. His hands, sans the gloves Hux gave him, resting on a knee. ]

Greetings.

[ He immediately frowns slightly, looking a bit uncomfortable. ]

I may be arriving at this conclusion through flawed reasoning...

[ That look of being thoroughly uncomfortable intensifies. ]

...but I believe I have made a grave mistake. While there is no "fixing" said mistake...

[ He still looks uncomfortable, but actually looks away from the camera.]

...what emotional means are there to show actual repentance?

[ He looks back, feeling very off-kilter, very silly, but very serious. ]

I am...not experienced with it. I ask publicly because I wish to know how others would handle such a situation.

Thank you for your time.

THE MAJORITY REPORT: NOVEMBER 20TH, 2017
Space!
What is it good for?
Absolutely something.
SUPERSTAR STATUS
As seen on BlueTube, Bwitter, Rumblr, and TMI:
Fans of the ever-elusive Rebecca Galaxy are ecstatic that its finally made its return to TV with five brand-new episodes last Saturday! This set of new episodes introduces Rebecca and her surrogate parents to a new human friend by the name of Alex, voiced by new imPort Hajime Shino. Shino and Alex make their debut in the episode "Shadows".

"It's an honor back home to be asked to lend your voice to a character, so I've been excited to see how it'll turn out," Shino explained. "It was really new to me... but I was able to be a little in my comfort zone, since I was able to help with the ending song."

For those new to Rebecca Galaxy, its ending theme "Fond of You" has been a popular source for fan theory due to how it changes between arcs, and this arc's section is no different. Its usually haunting and bittersweet tone are replaced by Shino's cautiously hopeful and gentle section which has fans scrambling to find meaning. Some fans debate that Rebecca and Alex's friendship may be mirroring the friendship and eventual romance of Rebecca's mother and father. When asked to comment on this, Rebecca Galaxy director and creator Steven Sucre just said that fans had to "wait and see."

JEDI DO DECLARE
As seen in Bwitter, Rumblr, social media websites:
After Grievous' controversial anti-Jedi declaration, a number of Jedi fans, notably those following Kanan Jarrus' nascent imPort Export podcast and Luke Skywalker, took to social media in order to exhort the virtues of the resident Jedi, or at the very least, the ones who are public about their identities as Jedi, under the hashtag #NotAllJedi. Multiple viral posts have circulated, from stories about the kindness of a Jedi to pictures of Jedi in everyday situations. Others have taken Grievous's side on the matter, however, and have been bringing up various incidents such as Luke Skywalker's clone to illustrate the damage these individuals (and, it is implied, other imPorts) can do.

AWOL DIAL-UP
As heard online, on all the best podcast-supporting websites, and discussed in metahuman-related conspiracy blogs:
This month’s episode of Count Dooku’s political podcast Counting Truths guest stars Adachi and Krennic on the topic of imPort travel restrictions. The Count prompts discussion by asking his guests whether they think it is fair that imPorts cannot leave the United States for too long without risking an ‘AWOL’ declaration.

Adachi has a serious air about the whole interview, a stark contrast to how he is usually seen interacting with Count Dooku. As a private investigator well known for his service to the native community, he has to travel outside of Porter cities for work often. Adachi recounts the first time he left on request, saying, “Nothing was clear cut, and I had no idea who to contact to find out if I needed to get permission to go to a non-Porter city. It took me an hour just to find the right person to contact, and even longer for them to actually pick up, only to be told I could just go when I wanted. I wasted an entire day I could have used traveling.” He also brings up the concern of other imPorts from Earth, stating, “I know it’s not the same place, I know I won’t find the same people; but one day? I’d just really like to go home to Japan and see how things are different there. So far, that doesn’t seem likely to happen.”

When Dooku prompts him, Krennic tells him that as an Imperial officer and the Director of the Advanced Weapons Research back home, he can see the merit behind the governmental policy. “ImPorts are assets to the government,” he says. “My job is to create assets for the Empire back home and I’ve created something similar before through genetic engineering. Imagine if an ImPort spent too long outside the US soil and falls into enemy hands. We’re at war, we can’t afford that, not to mention that the Soviets has been known to use our own ImPorts against us before.” He ends the interview by saying that he supports the law, and that they actually need tighter laws for ImPort travel. It would be unfortunate for individuals, of course, but they must remember that they’re at war, he stresses.

The Count closes the episode by thanking his guests and encouraging concerned listeners to take action by organizing, speaking out in the media or Network, and lobbying their elected imPort Ambassadors.

CAMPAIGNS ARE A LADDER
As seen on all major Maurtia Falls news networks and published in national papers:
In a stunning victory, former imPort Ambassador Petyr Baelish won the mayoral election for Maurtia Falls. This years race had seen much higher traffic at the polls than the previous years with 93,856 people turning up (as compared to 43,722 in 2013 and 41,588 in 2009). Results were close with Baelish winning 57% to Cardelli's 43%.

Mayor Incumbent Tony Cardelli had been the projected winner, but a large number of younger voters turned up at the poll in support of Baelish, claiming they want a brighter future for both them and their younger siblings, and they think Baelish will be the change their city needs. They expressed their support on social media with #VoteMockingbird.

Much discourse exploded online after the election results came in with unhappy citizens claiming the government was giving too much power to imPorts and Baelish shouldn't have been allowed to run in the first place. Others dragged Senator Mitchell Hundred's name into the mix, stating the ambassadorial position is the worst thing that could have been created because it has allowed these two men a platform to power and what is stopping future imPort ambassadors from taking over the entire country? But supporters have vehemently protested to say if an imPort is the right person for the job, why shouldn't they be given the chance to do it?

Petyr Baelish will officially assume office on January 1st, 2018. And in the meantime, many have begun speculation about which imPorts might decide to run for the Maurtia Falls ambassadorial election. Some are holding out hope for the return of Komasan and his soft-cream dreams.

DIRECT TO ELECT
As seen through official federal government statement:
REGARDING MAURTIA FALLS AMBASSADOR ELECTIONS:
The election for the office of Maurtia Falls Ambassador will be held on Tuesday the 9th of January, 2018. While current Ambassador Petyr Baelish is serving out the remainder of his term, imPorts are allowed to begin their campaigns and fundraising as early as November 21st, 2017. A formal deadline to sign-up will come later in the year.

ART THOU SAD
As seen around Maurtia Falls, in public places:
The infamous bElish, urban graffiti artist, seemed to have enacted his farewell to arms after Petyr Baelish's successful mayoral campaign. Five-foot-tall statues have appeared around the city overnight, much to the delight of Bwitter. You'd be likely to find a few inappropriate photos taken with these statues. Behave!

DROGON IT!
As seen in social media and mainstream news outlets:
This month's Swearing In got heated when De Chima woodlands were engulfed in a mysterious wildfire. While no casualties were reported, many who were out camping and hiking at the time were injured and otherwise endangered.

While there has been no official statement from the authorities as to the cause of the fires, many eye witnesses have taken to social media to accuse the dragon known as Drogon, owned by imPort and fashion icon Daenerys Targaryen. Footage has been released of the dragon on the ground at a camping site, and it is not known what has happened to the creature since, or where he is now. Targaryen has released a statement on Bwitter that discloses that Drogon is in recovery from being injured, and claims he was not involved in the fires but that a team of imPorts are worthing with the appropriate authorities to discover who was.

Also on the scene were imPorts Bodhi Rook and Sam Merlotte. More footage from the scene shows the De Chima Ambassador in an altercation with an armed citizen as the crowd rallied to try to contain the dangerous creature, while rumours circulate that Rook rescued an unidentified child from the dragon's attack.

On social media, the hashtag #FightingFires has been trending, used mainly in support of imPorts by fans. It was originated by Targaryen in the following Bwitter statement: "In the wake of crisis, it is natural for blame and fear to circulate as fast as wildfire. I wish to be clear: the dragon, Drogon, was in no way involved in the fires that day. He suffered greatly instead, and has been in recovery since. In the past, both he and many beings from other worlds have put great effort into making this one a better place, and repairing the damages that come when others do not. If you believe in #FightingFires together, I urge you to counter blame with truth and share your own stories or simply voice your belief that we mean you no harm."

The hashtag has also been ground for rebuttal and calls for the dragon's capture and extermination. No official statement has been released regarding the status of the dragon as investigations continue.

CODE SWITCH
The Homeland Security Advisory System has moved from DRAGON BURNT ORANGE to ASH GRAY.

So I'm sure most of you saw the network message about the Jedi made, last week. And the rebuttals made to that, over bwitter or through podcasts or over the network itself. This isn't one of those.

[ Hello, here's a face you might recall. Or not? Bodhi isn't all for public announcements like this, he's made one like this and the other was almost accidental. But he's had some Thoughts on recent events and wanted to make them known. ]

And I just wanted to say, that these come from people in the same galaxy. As myself. And if you wish to take that warning  [ if you can call it that and not a blatant attempt to arise suspicion ] into account, that's fine -- there's nothing wrong with that. But I also wanted to say that we come from a place that has seen a lot of war. After the Jedi fell, something called the Empire rose, and they... you know what, that's not the point of this

[ deep breath ]

Anyways. Not all of us are wanting to bring our war here to you, or involve you in it. We shouldn't be trying to involve you in it, at all. To some of us -- to me, we can't go back to where we came from. I can't go back, this has become my home. Spending this time fighting... isn't how I want to use my time. And I hardly think I'm alone in that.

That's all I wanted to say on that.

[ and on a more positive note: ] I will say there's one thing I really do miss and it's being up there. Being grounded is something that I'm not entirely used to -- can't believe the closest I'll get to the stars again is watching others in it on TV.

[ Not at all bitter or jealous, nope. With a shake of his head, he switches the feed off. ]

Gobble gobble gobble!

[Here's a grown man in a turkey hat looking ridiculously proud of his headwear choice and his high pitched turkey gobbling, at least the stupid voice only lasts for those initial three words before he's addressing the camera on a rather more serious but bright note.]

Turkey Day is right around the corner, a day for family and friends alike to come together and share what they're thankful for over some of the best dang food around. I, for one, am thankful for being a part of this awesome community of imports- you guys are all great, by the way-, plus I'm doubly thankful for having my bestest buddy, Jake, show up this month so I could share and enjoy that awesomeness with him. Hey, Jakey! [Excited wave at the camera!]

I'll be cooking up a feast this Thursday, and I'd like to send out an open invite to any of you out there who might otherwise be spending the day alone or just with limited celebration plans. It's not easy being away from home and missing your folks back there, so lets band together and enjoy what we have here: a community of bad ass super heroes who always have each other's backs.

Doesn't matter if we've never met, there's no better place for an introduction than around a Thanksgiving spread, and there's no need to bring anything but yourself. Alcohol is always welcome though.

In the meantime, what are you thankful for, network?!
