[ 01 ] Video; Possible Action for housemates?

[ The video starts rolling well before Walter's prepared to sit down and talk. What the viewer gets is about twenty minutes of a frail and sickly thin, older white man in his tighty whities, staring blankly into the screen. A bottle of wine is in one hand, continuously pouring the contents into a glass as he drinks them down only to refill it again. It's the alcoholic channel, with a few fascinatingly thoughtful jaw clenches and an unwavering staring competition with the lens. Finally, he clears his throat and speaks up. ]

So this is supposed to connect me to others 'like me?' These so-called imPorts...

[ He studies his empty glass, turning it in his hands. ]

There's one question that never got answered, and maybe you can give me some insight? Clue me in a little because I sure saw a lot of fire and brimstone a few days ago...

[ He looks up, dead eyes focusing on the screen. ]

Is this supposed to be hell?

I just want him to take care of himself. That's all.

Sometimes, people have to learn by themselves. it's good to have help from friends, but they need to learn too. Instead of just doing what they are told, that is.

[kingpawn]

[ Toboe, you don't understand Jesse and his inability to learn anything... ]

I suppose you're right. I don't want to be overbearing in my concern.

[ He laughs a little, forced. Strained. ]

I didn't catch your name?

[onewiththewild]

[ shhhh walter shhhh

don't say that about his not owner. ] It means you worry, at least.

[ Toboe smiles wide ] I'm Toboe! It's nice to meet you!

[ Walt's a little startled by that. Didn't Jesse say his dog was Toboe? Or rather his 'well-behaved' wolf? There's obviously a connection here because it's doubtful Jesse would just come up with the name Toboe out of no where. So maybe he named the wolf after this guy? What is Toboe's influence on Jesse? ]

Nice to meet you as well. My name is Walter White. [ He regards Toboe carefully to see if there's any recognition at the name. ]

[onewiththewild]

[ and toboe is blissfully unaware. He doesn't know Walter's name, Jesse never spoke of him before, but then again, jesse rarely speaks of himself and his world ]

It's nice to meet you, Walter.

Do you need anything? [ since you are.. you know, in your underwear and drinking... ]

[kingpawn]

No. No thank you. I appreciate the offer, but I wouldn't want to make you go out of your way for my sake.

[ A pause. He weighs his options. Should he outright ask about Jesse? But Walt remembers there are people who can listen in on his conversations, so he decides against it. Best to go at this the roundabout way. ]

Do you go to the Xavier school?

[onewiththewild]

Oh- it's not a problem, really! I like to help people. [ he is like a puppy, he is happy to help ]

And yeah, I am. Why?

[kingpawn]

You looked young. And that's the only school I'm aware of at the moment.

[ So there's that connection. ]

Do you like it there?

[onewiththewild]

Oh- yeah.

[ he grins happily and nods fast ] Hm! I like it a lot! They are all very nice. I also have a roomate! [ "roomate" ]

[kingpawn]

Oh? Do you and your roommate get along well?

[onewiththewild]

Yes. He is the best and he is very funny, too. And he gives me food! [ and toboe is a puppy in love with his not-owner, the way every dog is, so yeah. ]

[kingpawn]

He sounds very nice.

[ Is it Jesse? It could be Jesse. Maybe. But Toboe isn't a dog. Or a wolf. Maybe a werewolf? It's still hard to think of any of these things as being possible, though. ]

What's his name? I wonder if maybe I've met him...

[onewiththewild]

Hm! [ a bright smile ]

His name is Jesse!

[kingpawn]

[ It is Jesse. But he never told Walt he had a roommate. And all of those times Walt has gone over there, Walt never saw him either. ]

Oh? Is his last name Pinkman, perhaps?

[onewiththewild]

Yes, that's him! Jesse Pinkman!

He has a dog, Lucy.

[kingpawn]

Yes. I know him from home.

[ He raises a brow. ]

I believe he mentioned you when he also mentioned Lucy. But he made it sound like you were also a dog. I guess it was my misunderstanding, though.

[onewiththewild]

Home?

[ OH. ERrr. Toboe smiles a bit awkwardly ] I'm not... really a human. I'm not a dog either.

I'm a wolf.

[kingpawn]

Yes. Home. As in, we're from the same world -- before we came to this one.

[ Walt wouldn't say they're friends per se. ]

Oh yes. Sorry, that's right. A wolf. He said you were a wolf. A....friendly wolf.

[ But he neglected to say a human wolf. ]

[onewiththewild]

Oh! So you are his friend? He must be happy to have someone from his world here.

[ and that makes toboe happy.

HOWEVER about that second bit ] It's... probably a bit weird, but this is an illusion. [ he points at his own face ] I'm really just a wolf, but my power is to alter the perception of those who look at me.

... i can show you, if you want.

[kingpawn]

[ Friend is a very strong word...... but Walt doesn't bother to correct Toboe, offering a strained smile in response. ]

Oh! That makes sense. I wasn't even thinking of powers. The whole thing is so new to me, I thought you were some sort of werewolf -- I don't know if you have stories about them in your world, but in mine they're creatures of legend who live most of their lives as human, but every full moon they turn into a wolf -- sometimes a wolf-human hybrid -- and typically lose control of their sense of self and go on a killing spree.

[ He laughs quietly and then makes a sweeping gesture with his hand. ]

Yes, please. By all means, show me. I'm very interested to see your true form.

[onewiththewild]

[ in toboe's world, all wolves can do this. but apparently it's super strange, so Toboe is just going to say that it's exactly that. ] Hm-

I have heard of werewolves. They didn't exist in my world.

[ toboe will just drop his illusion for now, and in a blink of an eye, the kid is a wolf. There is no transformation, there is no fur growing. A moment there was a 14 years old kid, the other moment there was a wolf looking at the video. ]

[kingpawn]

[ Walt blinks and there's a wolf sitting there. He takes off his glasses and rubs his eyes before putting them back on. Yeah. Toboe's definitely a wolf. That's fascinating that an illusion could be so good it made him look human. (And a bit unsettling to a man who is obsessed with control -- knowing that there are some things here (illusions, powers, abilities) that can so easily deceive him.) ]

Wow. I've never seen anything like it. Can you still communicate in this form?

[onewiththewild]

[ toboe's ear moves in response but he eventually speaks: ] I can. With everyone. [ this actually includes animals. ]
