video.

[ Peter's had enough. He's tired of trailing after the shadows of Sylar like it'll get him anywhere and he's done this already. It got old the first time he got shoved off a rooftop. It got even older the... second? time he helped kill Sylar. And now? He's just over it. Long past over it. And he's not going to apologize for his behavior.

Which is why he's now taking a page out of Claire's handbook. Especially since he's figured a certain something out.

... Peter's seated plainly at a table, a rather large kitchen knife laying in front of him. You know, one of those you see running rampant in horror movies.
]

Hey, Sylar.

[ He smiles plainly, picks up said knife and waves it in front of the comm, his other hand resting palm side down on the table. ] You paying attention?

[ A second later, no hesitation, he slams it into the back of his hand, barely managing a flinch in the process. Though he doesn't look particularly comfortable when he goes about twisting it around. For. Y'know. Posterity's sake. Keeping Sylar's interest is important, here. Another few seconds and he pulls it back out, tossing the knife to clatter on the table. Shoving his palm into the screen of the comm device, it only takes a second or two for the wound to begin healing, knitting itself together until it's gone completely, leaving behind tracks of blood.

Wiping his hand off on his jeans, he looks rather expectantly at his comm, completely blase.
] So. Interested in talking yet? Or do I still have to come find you.

You've already been in treatment? With an imPort psychiatrist, or...?

[Because there are only two imPort psychiatrists, and Chilton is one of them. He manages to completely suppress his glee, given the gravity of the topic at hand..]

Hm. Why not pull more people into this? Other vigilante types, I mean, people with powers who can aid your apparent quest. Certainly, certainly, you don't want to expose more individuals to violence, but it seems to me that you and this man are both equal and opposite forces. So why not tip the scales with a voluntary coalition?

For someone that dangerous to fly under the radar this long, that is a travesty.

[There it was, that's what Chilton was looking for. He's mine to deal with. Possession. Obsession. Both were highly volatile behaviors, and Chilton preferred to work with them over anxiety -- while anxious symptoms could arise from these darker human elements, they were but symptoms to the grander disease.

Chilton wanted a confession, and he just got one.
]

Otherwise would disagree, of course. [Devil's advocate.] They'd say that your strategy would improve with an unfair advantage.

But you know this man, this Sylar, better than anyone else, don't you? You know that those others don't see the right endgame.

I do not doubt your constitution to resolve this matter. [Such euthanized words, as if Sylar were a matter and not a sentient individual -- but Chilton wasn't about to humanize the antagonist who was so clearly claimed by Peter.] And I believe you'll succeed.

But that begs the question -- what happens when you get him? What happens if killing him isn't enough? I've known a few imPorts who have died and stayed dead, yes. [Freddie Lounds. Abel Gideon. Yuri.] Or at least, they haven't returned here. But most of us do.

[It's a leading query; Chilton suspected that Peter has a plan. This degree of dedication didn't come without intricate thought, without detail, and the psychiatrist anticipated that Peter might be the type to overthink things. But he still wanted to hear about the fallout, he wanted to know the intent. To what depth had this Sylar plunged Peter?]

Are you thinking about a sort of -- oh, long term incapacitation? I'm not sure if the current probation and jailing system could handle this type of murderer.

Playing to his rules. [It was a line worth repeating. That was the flesh of the matter, the meat and blood and clench of bones. Peter was going to do something to Sylar that he normally would find highly distasteful -- maybe even immoral. But clearly Peter was willing to sacrifice his morality to quash this monstrous human being, and that choice was the one that intrigued Chilton.]

I wish you luck. If you decide that you would like help containing him, I have a facility. And, being a psychiatrist, I also have access to sedatives.

[Which was actually one of his powers: organic sedative creation.]

And if you need someone to... Discuss this with. After the fact. Well, I haven't judged you yet, have I?

I assure you, I'm not here to yank you about. [The conversation yielding Crane's name -- Chilton doesn't make comment on that, but he does collect it. Another note, another puzzle piece to place on Peter. He knows that it wouldn't do anything to inspire Peter's confidence now, if Chilton enjoyed the disparaging opinion on Crane too much.

Besides, there were bigger games afoot.
]

It's only an offer. I trust that you know best what to do, with regards to Sylar. At least know that I put trust in you.
