Everybody's got powers, right? That's why they want us to stick around...

[You can just hear how much he likes that prospect. He all but spits those last two words out like it's a curse.]

So anyway, I'm curious.

How many of you have 'side effects' from them? Anybody know? I know there's gotta be more than one... but it's not all of you, is it?

I - nnghh. I wanna know why that is... why's it only some people?

If you couldn't see, would you get what sight is? How would you describe it to someone like that? Get what I'm saying?

[ He considers that, nodding to himself. ]

Then, do you only experience these side-effects as you use the power?

[How do you say 'I'm not sure' without coming across as 'well gee, I got all these awesome powers and I have half a clue what I'm doing'?]

I could help you with that, you know -- I've done plenty of work in this area. But you'd have to consent to me running a few tests to find out more about how exactly your powers are affecting your body. I'm sure therein will lie the cause, and potential cure, to whatever it is you've been experiencing.

[It's like there's an instant wall there; he shifts from semi curiosity to completely guarded. Bad experience, maybe?]

If you don't know, you don't know. Run your 'tests' on someone else!

[ ... Hm.

Of course that's up to you. You'll just "get used to it" all on your own, no doubt.

You think I'll do whatever you say just because you might figure something out? Like HELL I will! You can tell me what you think it is, and that's all I wanna hear!!

It could anything from a headache to a brain tumor -- or worse. Better answers require better information.

Someone has to. Labor is labor; only doctors prescribe them, necessarily or not.
