Everybody's got powers, right? That's why they want us to stick around...

[You can just hear how much he likes that prospect. He all but spits those last two words out like it's a curse.]

So anyway, I'm curious.

How many of you have 'side effects' from them? Anybody know? I know there's gotta be more than one... but it's not all of you, is it?

I - nnghh. I wanna know why that is... why's it only some people?

I'm sure they do. But I don't know if we'll ever hear about it, you know? People that strong hate people finding out their vulnerabilities the most.

... I don't fight people, so I don't know if it can go as far as killing people. The skills that can destroy the monsters back home knock me out if they hit. But the weapon I use is an ordinary weapon so that can probably kill.

Doesn't matter if we hear about it. Just matters they have one.

Back in my world I fight every day. Special circumstances.

[It's not that he doesn't believe you- oh, wait, no, that's totally it. Either that, or Ken is exactly like Kai.]

Koromaru and I are two of about ten people who can find the monsters that are making people sick and endangering lives in our city.

[iamtetsuo]

Koromaru... the dog?!

[Uh kid dogs aren't people]

Yes, the dog. He has the same powers as I do. At least back home. The nanites are suppressing them here.

[Because Ken will roll his eyes and set the phone on his desk and zoom out before tossing what definitely looks like an open switchblade. And Koromaru catches the handle in his mouth.]

Try?! It's a dog!

[It's also past 1 AM but let's face it, when's that gonna stop him]

Yeah, we're well aware of that. You got teleported into a weird new world and given weird new powers and you won't believe that some universes have fighting dogs?

[iamtetsuo]

[The laughter isn't out of his voice, but it's softer now at least]

Sure, some dogs fight... that's why they have teeth.

[amadaman]

Direct contact is too risky, especially when you have to get as close as Koromaru would have to with his teeth. He's already been badly injured, when he fought a Shadow on his own.

[The only person stupid reckless enough to fight Shadows with his bare hands is Akihiko but to Ken that's Super Cool so.]

You're really serious, aren't you...? You expect me to believe that Koromaru carries? He doesn't have hands!

[amadaman]

We work as a team so we give it to him when we have to battle. We usually don't unless we head out to where the monsters are. And I'm serious, yes. I summon my own monster out of my head.

[iamtetsuo]

If you think I'm crazy, that's fine, but don't wet your pants if you have to see me summon and you're not ready.

[iamtetsuo]

Monsters out of your head? Dogs with weapons? I'll believe you... if you can prove it.
