After a moment, that tiger speaks - and speaks with a very human voice, a light and girlish voice with a South London accent. And who else speaks like that? This is, of course, one Kitty Jones, living up to her name. ]

Hullo, all. Happy - slightly belated - Earth Day. I hadn't known about that holiday last year, so I didn't do a thing for it, but it's really a lovely thing, isn't it? So, a day, late, I'm doing a little charity drive, and I need all of you to participate. Proceeds going to the protection of the leaf-scaled sea snake, because no one ever bloody donates money to help species that aren't cute.

[ The leaf-scaled sea snake is also quite venomous. Y'know. Whatever. ]

So what this consists of is this. I want you to volunteer here, in this post, to answer questions from fans on rumblr. Give me a list of topics you're not willing to talk about, as well as how many questions you're willing to answer. Then your rumblr fans - or enemies, I suppose, maybe some of them will want to trap you in a lie or something - will bid on the opportunity to ask you questions. Whichever fan puts in the highest bid gets the right to ask the first question, then the second-highest bid gets second question, all down until you don't want to answer any more stupid questions. And then all the proceeds go to the sea snakes.

So who's in? Talk about yourself, help the environment. What's not to like?

I mean, I'm not going to even hint that you're any worse or any better for not seeming like the sex-having-type, because you ought to be having precisely the amount of sex you want to be having, no less and no more. [The flash makes her blink, though she isn't too surprised by the change in shape. Not enough to show it anyway]

Well, for one, the wild mage we have can't change shape that fast.

[Shes never quite sure how to answer that question. How do you boil down a world into a few sentences?]

[ She leans forward a little eagerly. ]

Sorry, I know that's not actually relevant, just - I don't know too many people like me. Not here, anyway. Loads back home, sort of, but not here.

I couldn't say if she's like you, since I don't know how your power works. But she talks with animals and takes their shape.

[Kel glances away and then back]

She's not here either, though I wish she were.

[ A little awkwardly. ]

Oh. Er - sorry. I didn't mean to make you sad. Anyway...Does that mean you do know how her power works?

Sad? No, just missing some familiarity.

She....can talk to animals in her magic and heal them and take their shape?

Mages have their Gift and shape it with spells.

[rathercommon]

Well...Where does the Gift come from? Do you know?

[protects_the_small]

Their energy, mostly. They can drain their own life-force if their Gift runs out, but by all accounts that's a bad plan.

As for where humans got magic, that's more for priests and mage students, sorry.
