VIDEO Track 001
[ It took Peter a while to figure out the whole smartphone thing. To be fair though for him 'a while' was like... five minutes. Maybe six. Oh he still hadn't figured out EVERYTHING yet, but like the basics? Totally down. He had to fight the urge to try and take it apart and put it back together again. He had a feeling it was waaaay more complicated then the walkmans and arcade cabinets he pulled apart and tweaked. ]
This thing is so awesome... Like something outta a scifi flick or something...
[ There's a guy with a silver mullet and motorcycle goggles perched on his head on the screen. No really. Dude looks like he walked right outta the 80s. He pretty much did too. There's also an odd high pitched buzzing noise in the background. Technically it was music. A mix of Queen, David Bowie, Rush, and Pink Floyd. Not that most would notice. It was being plaid at like... several hundred times the normal speed. Luckily Peter notices he left his walkman on and he flips it off after a couple seconds. ]
Anyway, hey. Name's Peter Maximoff and it's come to my attention that it is the year 2016. Last I checked it was 1983. That means I'm missing out on 33 years worth of music and that's a damn tragedy. [Clearly that's his most important issue here now. ] So y'know. I need recs from all you future people! What's good? What sucks? I'm not too picky about genre but I gotta have music or I'll probably go crazy.
[ OK so really he's still worrying about his mom and his sisters and the kids at the Prof's school and other family issues that he just really doesn't wanna think aboutdaddy issues don't ask. So to keep his mind off things he's just gonna think about music and stuff because running more laps around the city really isn't helping him much. ]
Oh! And video games. There's gotta be like at least a dozen new versions of the Atari and ColecoVision by now, right?

[ He nods vaguely. He honestly never could figure out the actual fundamentals and stuff of what exactly his sister did. ]
You got it! I'm so fast I make bullet trains cry.
video
And, fun fact: I also have a tendency to bake and cook too much food -- because A: I just like baking and cooking, and B: I use it as a distraction sometimes, so I just start and don't stop -- so if you ever want a lot of free food, you can come over and eat almost all the contents of my kitchen when I have enough leftovers for like fifty people. [speedster metabolisms: she knows them well.]
video
[ Can you just SEE his eyes grow larger as you describe the state of the fridge. ]
You serious? Like I mean I'm a human garbage disposal I will eat anything you put in front of me and that might be a box you don't wanna open.
video
video
[ But the important part here... ]
Just what kinda pastries are we talking about here anyways?
video
video
[ Do you see how excited that little tidbit of knowledge just suddenly made him? He's bouncing in his chair! More so then normal at least. ]
My Baba used to make those for me!
video
[There's a short pause. Maybe a second or two. No more than that.] Actually, hm. Are you doing anything in, say, an hour? You could come here or I could go there, and we could continue talking, but in person. [An hour also gives her time to bake a batch or two of fresh kiflice for them to eat.]
video
[ He grins. This isn't the Wanda he knows but she's still Wanda and she just still feels familiar. It's nice! ]
Actually it works out pretty great. I'm gonna go check out an arcade with someone so I got something to occupy my time without getting me in trouble.
video (to action?)
[Anyway, while he's doing that, she's going to be doing two things at once (well, not literally at once, but quickly going from one to the other so they'll both be done in an hour
GOD IT WOULD BE REALLY COOL TO HAVE SUPERSPEED IN MOMENTS LIKE THESE, SHE THINKS) as she works on making kiflice and something along the lines of more of a main course to go with it. So when he does show up, it's all already cooling off on the stove.]action
Either way after about an hour or so he's knocking on the door.
HE CAN SMELL WHAT'S INSIDE ALREADY PLS LET HIM IN. ]

Come on in; I just finished a few minutes ago, so, food's still warm and everything. [She offers him a smile.]
no subject
Thanks, smells amazing!
[ He pauses a second, head tilted just a bit now that he gets a chance to see her in person. ]
You know... you look kinda different from her, the Wanda I know, I mean her hair is way bigger [ It's the 80s after all ] but your smile, it's exactly the same.

[Once in the kitchen, she gets out a plate and offers it to him, taking another one for herself.] So, multiverses and families. Have you met anyone else here who's related to you in another universe, or from your own universe? [What she's really asking here is: Does he know about Billy and Erik? Since, you know, she's certain he's not from Billy's but she's not sure if he and Erik are from the same world or not. Who knows if he talked to them on the network after she did, or he may have run into them in the past hour in person. And YEAH she could just poke in his brain for that information, but is she going to? No, because she actually has an interest in talking to him. And they were already on the topic of family.]

I met your kid! Who is a few years younger then us? Seems pretty nice. Weird though. I mean weird with the alternate reality thing not that he's a weirdo or anything.
[ He's silent for another second or two as he drums his fingers against the table and honestly it's a good thing you're not poking in his mind. He thinks as fast as he moves which means his brain is like a chorus of chattering squirrels each yelling about something entirely different. He's like a telepath's worst nightmare. ]
And there was my... dad. Which was awkward.

Billy was also the one that told me there was a version of his grandfather - Erik - here, though I didn't actually contact him until a couple weeks after my arrival. [She wanted to do it sooner, she should have done it sooner, but she hadn't. She wanted to get more mentally settled before contacting another version of someone she'd known to be dead for the past sixteen years.]
Does that mean you're from the same version of the universe he is? [Now that she knows he's seen him here too. And the term he uses to describe his relationship with him doesn't go unnoticed by her, either, even if she doesn't comment on it; 'awkward' isn't a word she'd use to describe the relationship she has with this other version of her dad. Maybe for the first five seconds or so.] Because honestly, I thought I came from the shit version of our similar universes -- governments are mess when it comes to dealing with people with powers, and my whole family back there is dead, just to give a broad summary -- but that one, his - yours? - sounds just as messed up too. And I don't even know a lot about it. [She knows enough of the highlights -- well, lowlights, really -- of what happened to Erik in the twenty years he was gone by his time (but only a day or so here) to guess it's not a fun time for other powered people there either.]
no subject
[ Honestly in his experience Peter would probably use the word 'dysfunctional' instead of weird for his family but hey, weird works good too. ]
But yeah, him. He's the one from my world. Not that he knows he's my dad. Or he wasn't supposed to. But he now does I guess. Someone gave him spoilers. I mean I woulda eventually but...
[ He sighs and runs a hand through his hair. The whole thing is just. Dumb. ]
I'm sorry bout your family. I... I don't know what I'd do without my mom and sisters.
no subject
Yeah. [She laughs slightly again, if a bit awkwardly this time.] That 'someone' was Billy first, then me. We'd talked about our versions of you to him, so probably not too hard to piece together when another speedster he already knows and has a similar name shows up. Sorry if it made anything awkward. [She says that sincerely -- she'd hate to have accidentally played a part in making a conversation like that more awkward.]
What are they like? [She's more curious about his mom and other sister.]
no subject
[ He may be faster then anyone he knows but there are some things that he can be just so incredibly slow about. ]
Wanda is Wanda? I don't know she's my little sister who's responsible and has a real job even though she's spooky and tries to get me to act like an adult. [ He laughs a little. He doesn't always get along with her but she'll always be close to his heart. ]
My mom... eh... she tries. She's had a rough time raising the three of us so, uh, y'know. [ He loves her lots but he really wishes she didn't spend most of her free time drowning in booze. He frowns a little. Sometimes he wonders if he was the one to literally drive her to drink. ]
Oh, then there's my youngest sister- [ And let's just pretend he says her name and it's a lovely name which is sad because it never was mentioned so he'll be referring to her as such endearments as squirt and princess from here on out. ] She's about that Billy kid's age? Maybe a couple years younger, here...
[ He smiles and takes out his wallet to pull an old photo out of it. It's him, clearly much younger, in his teens, with a little girl in a princess dress around seven sitting on his lap on the floor of the living room. They both look happy despite how disheveled the place looks around them. ]
I mean this is obviously kinda old, but she means a lot to me. She kinda gets the short end of the stick, she don't get along very good with Wanda and my mom well... anyways princess here's one of the only people I ever really slow down for long periods of time for. I actually stole that dress she has on there! Uh, not that I do that kinda thing anymore.

Red wisps fly from her fingers again and she uses her telekinesis to pull her journal she'd left on the shelf on the living room bookcase to her. I mean, yeah she could get up and walk the 30 feet to it, but nah. She opens it to the first page, where there's a picture taped there, protected by a piece of sheet protector over it as well, and hands it over to him so he can look at it. It's a family picture, all four of them in their small apartment, and she and Pietro are nine years old. They too look happy, even though their apartment is small and they don't have a ton.] While we're talking about old pictures: I had this one tucked in my jacket when I was brought here. It was taken a year before our apartment complex was hit by shells, when our parents died. I wish I had more pictures, but I don't. [That was the one thing Pietro could salvage after they escaped from the rubble. He went back in to get something, anything, and came out with that and carried it with him until he died, at which point Wanda took it off of his person and carried it on hers. She should honestly probably get a frame for it.]
