[ 01 ] Video; Possible Action for housemates?

[ The video starts rolling well before Walter's prepared to sit down and talk. What the viewer gets is about twenty minutes of a frail and sickly thin, older white man in his tighty whities, staring blankly into the screen. A bottle of wine is in one hand, continuously pouring the contents into a glass as he drinks them down only to refill it again. It's the alcoholic channel, with a few fascinatingly thoughtful jaw clenches and an unwavering staring competition with the lens. Finally, he clears his throat and speaks up. ]

So this is supposed to connect me to others 'like me?' These so-called imPorts...

[ He studies his empty glass, turning it in his hands. ]

There's one question that never got answered, and maybe you can give me some insight? Clue me in a little because I sure saw a lot of fire and brimstone a few days ago...

[ He looks up, dead eyes focusing on the screen. ]

Is this supposed to be hell?

For some, I imagine it's a great adventure, an exciting and thrilling journey. But for me, it's a slap in the face -- a reminder that even when I die, I can't be at peace.

I'm sorry. [ he looks genuinely sorry. ] You... didn't want to live, thought?

[ He shrugs. ]

It isn't so much that I didn't want to live. Trust me, I did. But I had a death sentence and had no choice but to come to terms with it.

[ Walt shakes his head. ]

Cancer.

[ Video ]

[ he pauses ] I don't know what cancer is, I'm sorry.

[ Video ]

You don't?

[ Walt never considered a world free of cancer was even possible. ]

It's a life-threatening disease caused by cells that refuse to die.

[ Video ]

[ rather, he is a wolf, he has no idea about medicine ]

Eh? Isn't there medicine for it?

[ Video ]

There are things that help, but nothing that cures it.

[ Walt hesitates. ]

I'm not certain. A...friend of mine from home healed me when I arrived with terrible symptoms. But I haven't gone to the hospital to get it checked since.

[ toboe smiles hopeful, and nods ]

Hm! So maybe you are alright now! And it's not bad- it means you can keep going, now.

[ Walt hopes he's not all right. He prays he's not all right. Because then that would mean Jesse did something very, VERY stupid. ]

That' a very positive way to look at things. I appreciate the sentiment, and I hope you're right.

[ he smiles brightly ] And there are many other people with healing powers here, too! So maybe they can help, as well, in case it wasn't enough!

Yes. I was pretty well aware of the fact that some people can heal. And not in the traditional sense, either. Some of those people wind up taking the other person's injury on themselves...

It seems a bit unfair -- to have to suffer with other people's burdens that way just to use a power.

If it's someone important to them... I think it's worth it.

[ toboe has died twice, each time to save someone, and one of them was a total stranger. So yes, he thinks it's worth it ]

But what if it's not someone who's important? What if people just take advantage of this person's good nature and leave him to suffer alone?

Isn't it up to this person to decide what's best.

This person isn't very capable of making rational decisions...

I just want him to take care of himself. That's all.

Sometimes, people have to learn by themselves. it's good to have help from friends, but they need to learn too. Instead of just doing what they are told, that is.

[ Toboe, you don't understand Jesse and his inability to learn anything... ]

I suppose you're right. I don't want to be overbearing in my concern.

[ He laughs a little, forced. Strained. ]

I didn't catch your name?

[ shhhh walter shhhh

don't say that about his not owner. ] It means you worry, at least.

[ Toboe smiles wide ] I'm Toboe! It's nice to meet you!

[ Walt's a little startled by that. Didn't Jesse say his dog was Toboe? Or rather his 'well-behaved' wolf? There's obviously a connection here because it's doubtful Jesse would just come up with the name Toboe out of no where. So maybe he named the wolf after this guy? What is Toboe's influence on Jesse? ]

Nice to meet you as well. My name is Walter White. [ He regards Toboe carefully to see if there's any recognition at the name. ]

[ and toboe is blissfully unaware. He doesn't know Walter's name, Jesse never spoke of him before, but then again, jesse rarely speaks of himself and his world ]

Do you need anything? [ since you are.. you know, in your underwear and drinking... ]
