[ 01 ] Video; Possible Action for housemates?
[ The video starts rolling well before Walter's prepared to sit down and talk. What the viewer gets is about twenty minutes of a frail and sickly thin, older white man in his tighty whities, staring blankly into the screen. A bottle of wine is in one hand, continuously pouring the contents into a glass as he drinks them down only to refill it again. It's the alcoholic channel, with a few fascinatingly thoughtful jaw clenches and an unwavering staring competition with the lens. Finally, he clears his throat and speaks up. ]
So this is supposed to connect me to others 'like me?' These so-called imPorts...
[ He studies his empty glass, turning it in his hands. ]
There's one question that never got answered, and maybe you can give me some insight? Clue me in a little because I sure saw a lot of fire and brimstone a few days ago...
[ He looks up, dead eyes focusing on the screen. ]
Is this supposed to be hell?

Is this supposed to be hell?
voice;
I prefer to think of it as an opportunity. To learn new things, reach out for some new goals. Not that I need to re-invent myself, but the opportunity is there, for all of us. I don't think Hell has any options.
[ Make no mistake, Lou was pissed when he first got here. In fact, he's still in a cycle of grief for having his recent triumphs taken from him by being ported here. But wallowing in self-pity and strapping himself to going nowhere? That just wasn't Louis Bloom, not lately.
Here's your ray of positivity, Walt. ]
voice;
He takes a moment to mull over Lou's words. ]
You raise a good point. But then again, maybe hell is more deceptive than either of us think. For all of these new powers we've found ourselves with, maybe that just means there will be new and inventive ways to be tormented down the road.

[ A joke, gentle enough he doesn't need to laugh at it. ]
The way I see it, Mr. White, is that no matter what your perception may be, the most vital decision we have to make... is working towards getting on top of our situation. Otherwise being victimized seems - no, is - inevitable.
Right?

Don't call me that. [ It makes him think of Jesse. Jesse is a sore subject right now. ] Walt is fine.
[ But that aside, the words couldn't be closer to the truth. Walt can't afford to be the victim. Not here. Not now. Not after coming so far. ]
You're right. [ A glass clinks as he sets it down. ] You're absolutely right.
[ Walt's starting to feel a little revitalized now. ] I guess I needed to hear it from an outside perspective.

He's much more interested in the fact that his words seem to be working. It's pretty empowering, helping someone. Too bad he's a little too self-interested to consider committing to the heroism the government has been strongly suggesting they partake of. ]
You're a pharmacist, aren't you, Walt? A chemist.
I listened to a few of your other conversations. I didn't want to say anything that someone else might have already brought up.
[ Hope you don't mind, is implied. ]

I am, yes. Is that something that interests you? Or are you bringing it up for another reason entirely?

I actually had a question about pharmaceuticals, yes. It's not something I know much about, and though I'm good at doing research, I'd definitely appreciate a professional opinion from an imPort...
Though if you'd like me to ask you at a later time, I understand.
[ You know, because you've been drinking. It's ok if you don't think your brain can do that work right now, Walt. ]

[ But if he asks about meth, Walt is hanging up so fast. In the meantime, though, Walt does check for Louis's name just so he at least has that. ]

Well, it's a little embarrassing. I...
[ How much does he want to tell? How much does he need to? ]
Do you know of any script that might nullify sensitivity without affecting any mental faculties? I know there are a few painkillers that might do the trick, but are there any other options?

[ Walt pauses, hesitant to say...but perhaps if it would help him test the extent of his abilities.... ]
But perhaps this would be best done in person. I know a way that could accomplish what you want without having to resort to medicine of any kind -- at least at first. But I would rather not talk about it over the network.
[ A brief flicker of a smile. ]
I like to have some form of privacy.

Meeting up with someone in private? Lou gives the man in question a once-over. Walt's about twice his age and doesn't look like he was exactly a former SEAL or anything. He looked like a chemist. Lou could probably take him, if things didn't go in a good way.
In any case, he laughs a little. ]
But not a lot of modesty, it seems! Well... sure, okay. Are you in Heropa?
[ Which makes Lou wonder if it's possible to throw a ping at other communicators to see where they are, like GPS. It's something he'll have to figure out how to set up on his end for reception before he even tries, though, so Walt can breathe easy for the moment. ]

Yes. One of the government owned residencies -- number 21. But I can meet you somewhere, anywhere of your choosing.

Is tomorrow evening okay?
[ While he wants a solution, he's just not desperate enough to come over and put his body in the hands of a drunk man, so to speak. ]

[ There's a faint smirk as he says the next remark. ]
I'll make sure to put on pants.

Will do. Thank you, Walt.
[ ooc; you want to do this here or log it? ]

Lmao jsyk Walt rushed off to Jesse to try and buy a gun as a precaution for his meeting with Lou. Idk if Jesse will help him get one yet though haha. ]
