04 > VIDEO - I Want To Know More About You

[Oh look, a new post on the imPort communicator! Although this time, there seems to be no ID attached to the post, it's entirely anonymous. It's pretty late at night on the 25th, surely some people will be up.]

HISTORY:
• Suffers from trauma-induced mental health issues, including PTSD, depression, and panic disorder.
• On his home world, worked for a television show that intentionally staged crimes for publicity.

NAME: Eridan Ampora
ALIAS: Prince of Hope
POWERS/ABILITIES: Troll body, Hope Powers, Psychic resistance
HISTORY:
• Openly admits to multiple murders, openly threatens to kill or maim others.
• Has attempted genocide on his own planet multiple times.
• Likely has multiple personality disorders, and several mental health conditions.

NAME: Flame Princess
POWERS/ABILITIES: Fire elemental, pyrokinesis, fire giant shifting
HISTORY:
• A known Arsonist.
• Actively threatens to burn people alive.
• Has burned down multiple cities in her home world.

NAME: Kanaya Maryam
ALIAS: Sylph of Space, Hobgoblin
POWERS/ABILITIES: Troll Vampire Transformation, Chainsaw, and Portal Creation
HISTORY:
• Has been known for her temper, tendency towards violent crimes, and multiple murders.
• Has admit to and been jailed for the crimes commit by the Hobgoblin, which included kidnapping of several people, and then biological experimentation and surgical torture on the victims.
• Despite this, she has spent only a month in jail, and is already released on probation to another imPort.

NAME: Marceline Abadeer
ALIAS: The Vampire Queen
POWERS/ABILITIES: Vampire-demon, self-amplifying bass guitar
HISTORY:
• Openly admits vampirism.
• Has killed multiple people in her home world.
• Has been put in charge of a girl scout troop, despite the above.

POWERS/ABILITIES: Pyrokinesis, Ainur characteristics, Destruction
HISTORY:
• Imprisoned for three thousand years on his home world for causing chaos.
• Feigned repentance to escape prison.

NAME: Rose Lalonde
ALIAS: Seer of Light, formerly The Green Goblin
POWERS/ABILITIES: Godtier, Quills of Echidna, Luck Influence
HISTORY:
• Responsible for Green Goblin-based activity in Heropa dating back to January 2014.
• Known for underage drinking and has a history of alcohol abuse
• Her significant other has been arrested and jailed for crimes commit against civilians.

POWERS/ABILITIES: Communication with monsters; ability to see ghosts; touch-based psychometric empathy; psychic shields.
HISTORY:
• Has had multiple violent altercations with other Imports.
• Has orchestrated the death of another Import, and compelled the suicide of another.
• Has a history of associating with and abetting violent criminals.

POWERS/ABILITIES: Mutant power mimic
HISTORY:
• Has the potential to Host a destructive force known as the Phoenix, which has been known to destroy planets.

NAME: Kay Faraday

HISTORY:
• Part of a vigilante group in her own world known for "stealing the truth."
• Accused of the murder of an embassy secretary.
• Accused of robbing a courthouse in Heropa on June 3rd.

HISTORY:
• Has a history of theft and kidnapping on his home world.
• Second degree assault on innocents by attacking them with dogs.

• Exclusively a cannibal, supported by the government.
• Easily susceptible to mental instability.

• Self confessed spy, traitor, and murderer.
• Apparent mission objective of obliterating humanity.

CHARACTER HISTORY:
• Has commit numerous war crimes in his own world.
• Murder of innocents among them.

Within the next 12 hours, this information and more will be shared with the public. For a group of "heroes," there is quite a lot of blood spilled under your name, isn't there?

Do you know how much damage you've done?

The actual toll you've taken on this world?

Half a billion is taken out of the pocket of the civilians you've "saved" to cover damages, freebies, and those Swear-In ceremonies. Money that could be put towards so many other things; poverty, food shortages, housing for those people who really need it. Like parasites, you take from the host and give nothing back.

And all for what? So that the Government can hope to convince you to be their personal weapons of warfare. After all, you're the only kind of weapon they have that they can simply bring back to life should you die. Those nanites in every single imPort body ensure that.

So Heroes.

Do you think you can really make this world a better place, with all of the baggage you have tying you down? Maybe there is a chance you can do some good… But you need to first remove the threads that hold you to the deception being administered.

[OOC: Aaaand Inumuta is currently infected with the Hornet's Mind Clone of Miguel Rodriguez right now! So he's not exactly himself at the moment. Right now, Inumuta's doing the whole anonymous schtick, but if any hackers/people capable of tracking him down do any digging whatsoever, they'll find him. He's intentionally not covering his tracks as well as he could have because as a Hornet, he isn't shying away from any jabs he can get at Imports.

So, action is possible, but please try to coordinate with other players in this! Feel free to threadjack, whatever!

Also also, I will update this post with a few more characters once I hear back from a few people to get their final approval from my plotting post.]

You're asking me to accept a lot from someone who hasn't even told me just who they are.

I am Gwestbarthant. [It's who he is, not just an alias.] But I was once known as Maedhros. [He's not trying to hide that his own sins are listed above. He is used to the whole world knowing how far his family fell and there is nothing to gain from hiding it here.]

[ Korra isn't even going to attempt to pronounce that first one. Feanorians. ]

Alright, Maesdhros.

[ Names were a good start. She takes in one deep breath that rattles in her chest as she bolsters herself to gives this guy the benefit of the doubt. ]

Okay, I've switch this phone thing to private. This is just you and me - he can't hear us.

You have my thanks. [He has so much to learn. He hasn't gotten as far as learning to make conversations on this private.]

Melkor... [It feels so strange to call him that. He hasn't spoken the name since his grandfather's murder.] He and an ally attacked our home. My grandfather was the only one who dared try to stop them. Melkor murdered him for it. He stole... everything of value in the house except the weapons we carried and my brother's instruments.

My father died trying to get at least the three most precious gems back. When I tried after that, he held me hostage and tortured me. I... It is centuries of history. I was in the battle when he killed one of my uncles... [He trails off, starting to hum almost under his breath. It's the song his brother wrote mourning their people's fall, both the crimes Morgoth committed against them and the ones they in turn committed against others and themselves.]

I wish I could say that we kept our hands clean in it all but... We were foolish and then desperate... And it is far too late to take that back. But I would not see another take that path.

[ A lot to process.

Korra was silent for a moment, and then several more after that. It was all a lot to process even in such a broken down account of what she imagined were events spread out over no short measure of time. ]

I thought I understood spirits better than this. [ She muttered that more to herself. ]

Gems? The catalyst for all this conflict was gems?

My family's part, yes. The three... They were more than just gems. Before the sun and moon, there were two trees that lit our homeland. My father captured some of their light in three gems, the silmarils. When Morgoth injured the trees and Ungoliant poisoned them, those jewels could have saved the trees. Even if my father had been willing to sacrifice them, they were gone.

As for Morgoth... Melkor... [He forces himself to remember the other name for her sake.] His brother has said his evil started long before my race first awakened, that he wanted to create life of his own, independent of Iluvatar.

Iluvatar the one at the top of food chain? [ There is no organized religion in here world, not even the Air Nomads swear by any power but enlightenment. The concept is new to her, but she gathers this is in reference to something old and powerful. ] So his big 'crime against creation' was just what? Creation.

[ Now Korra is conflicted, but also wary of the skewed opinions of both sides. Creation is life, and it's beautiful; she could scarcely imagine why someone should be punished for wanting to be apart of it. ]

Was there a war over this?

[ Her voice is as thin as the ice Maedhros is walking on now depending on his next answer. She's speaking through all of her teeth bristling with anger. ]

I suppose you could describe him so. He is... the Father of all living, whether ainur like Melkor or elf or mortal.

[He cannot fault her for being wary. It is wise, even. Valar know his people should have been far warier far sooner than they learned to be. But he also knows the beauty of creation. That has never been forbidden. But to destroy and corrupt another's creation, especially out of envy...]

No. Or Lord Aule would also have fallen and he made the first dwarves though they had no life of their own until granted by Iluvatar. His crime was trying to destroy and corrupt what Iluvatar and Melkor's own kin made when he could not create life without Iluvatar.

So, yes, there was war over that, long before the first elves woke. He was to help shape the world with the other Valar and the Maiar yet he sought to break what others built.

That isn't what I asked - not over that.

[ Korra cut in tersely. Raava and Vaatu warred with each other across the world she can apply the same ideology here, to an extent. ]

I have a story of my own. Order against chaos clashing with each other since before time and all other life, never ending conflict, even when it took everyone else down with it. A time when spirits drove humans to live on the backs of the great lion turtles in fear for their lives, when the confused and angry eventually retaliated on both sides because the embodiment of chaos and darkness was deceptive before a balance was found.

Both side were combatants neither of them inherently good or evil, and it didn't matter. They fought, others suffered.

I didn't ask you what happened before because I already have some understand of the First Music. What I want to know is did this war, the one involving your father and your family, was your war for these gem purely defensive?

Is any war fully defensive? [He sighed. Those are dark times to remember.] We swore to get them back at all costs or face damnation and in doing so brought damnation on ourselves. It was... as much for revenge as for the silmarils in the very beginning. So, no, not entirely defensive so much as retaliatory.

[He shakes his head. For so long, that had been his life and he can never be free of it. Not even here. If she can read spirits from a distance, she will see a weariness and hopelessness born of centuries of guilt and a desperate fight for an end to both that guilt and the oath that drove him to further guilt.] We never approached him before but after... It was madness.

You mean you got everyone caught in the crossfire!

[ Her voice boomed, shouting louder enough the audio on the device whined as it corrected itself to process the sudden increase in volume.

She was only seeing her white hot anger and could care less if she broke her phone over. ]

You always think there's a reason. A goal that makes every awful thing you do right in the end.

So how many? How many people had to die because Melkor made the world a little darker? Would it have saved lives bringing it back? How many wouldn't have died if he didn't think he had the right idea?

How many innocent lives would you have saved if you never followed swore to follow him?!

I don't care if it was Trees, Melkor's senseless and cruel ambition, or these stupid gems.

Nothing is worth more than a life.

I know that now. I may have had to learn it the hard way but learn it, I did.

[He doesn't regret fighting Morgoth but he regrets the Oath and the Kinslayings bitterly and he regrets not listening to the Valar. Things could have been so different.]

But it's too late now. I can't bring them back.
