today i have learned that in america, a hero is someone who grows fat and lazy off the praises that are given to him, but he has not earned. for this, a hero will give away his freedom.

[ Though she does not fear as she once did, Wanda doesn't accept the tattoo on her wrist easily. Rather than being gunned down in the streets, the masses of "imPorts" allow themselves to be cataloged and controlled -- even those that profess to be unhappy with their enslavement. They say things like, "it could be worse," using that to justify their own slothfulness.

It could always be worse. That doesn't make it right. ]

where i am from, the avengers are so high in their tower that humans appear to them only as little ants. the complacency i see here is worse, i think.

then why do they not fight, if death is not something to fear?

these are their nanites? why do they not put them in themselves? become their own heroes?

Why should they when they've got a recyclable army of people they can goad into doing it for them?

I'd take these fucking nanites out, for a start. And I'd stop everyone from the world from acting like we have or want anything to do with whatever the government does.

two very good places to start. i agree. but both of those begin with the government, do they not?

perhaps we must change the government before we can no longer care about it.

This isn't my government. If this is what these people want then fine, whatever, it's their world at the end of the day.

I just don't want any part of it. That's all.

until we are home, however, we are still a part of this world, even if it is not ours. we are not without rights, or that makes us less than animals.

you may not want a part of it, but it may be that you are not given a choice by them. as you have said, they have created an army with these fucking nanites. is it so difficult to believe that they will not someday use us? all of us?

[she is less than an animal according to a host of people. Hazel wants to say that, but it's not worth divulging her awful truth over something so petty. just another thing to hold inside.]

I'm sure it's coming. That's why I'm working to get these things out of me before they decide to flip whatever switch they've got. I'm not going to let anyone make my decisions for me.
