[As the video comes on, Major's leaning in a bit close, trying to get his comm to stand on its end, but the thing keeps sliding over at varying speeds. He sighs, eventually picking the thing up and holding it out with his arm extended.
He offers a shrug as an explanation.]
I'm - never sure if I'm supposed to like, greet people when I start one of these? Well, to be on the safe side ... hey! How are you? I'm doing all right, thanks.
Okay, now that's out of the way, I have two questions for the folks here. .. They are completely unrelated, but of sort of equal importance. [He's walking under some trees that are out-of-shot, but the sunlight pouring through the canopies are sun-dappling Major's face as he moves.]
One: I'm a millenial so I'm pretty good with technology, but - these things sort of elude me a little bit. Is there a way for me to like .. go anon on this thing? Or change my name? Or just use a different one entirely? Or do I have to use my actual name on the network?
Two: Does anyone know if there's a copy of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark lying around? Could be a VHS, for all I care, so long as there's a VCR, too. But I'm not picky; could be anything, just as long as it's watchable!
If you're still listening, thanks! And if you have answers to my questions, I owe you a drink or something!

One: If you've ever used a web proxy or VPN, going anonymous is fairly similar to that. Anonymity has its own downsides however, so you may want to look into changing your name instead. Not something I've really looked into to say for a certainty.
But for future reference, using text negates that odd feeling of social obligation.
[old man yells at cloud and contributes nothing really useful]
[text]
of course it does! why do you think my generation is almost exclusively a texting one?
[text]
It's really not that difficult.
[says the comp-sci major]
But good luck with your endeavors.
[text]
Can't help you with the Raiders of the Lost Ark thing, but is THAT a load of memories. First VHS my dad ever bought.

[ She leans in, resting a hand underneath her chin. ]
Have you checked Bluetube? People upload movies there all the time, though obviously it's pretty dubious. Streaming places tend to be more legal, but I don't know if they offer it.

Okay, no, it's not Indiana Jones, but he sure looks like him.]
Yeah, you can go anonymous or change your name on the network here. I've seen people do it, usually if it's a weird question that'll get folks laughing at them. [Or if it's the Constellation. Or if it's Goldfinch or Jyn.] Why, you got an embarrassing question?
The hell's a VHS? And what's this Raiders of the Lost Ark?
OH CRAP.
Be cool, Major. God damn it, just be cool. He does his best to appear as casual and unaffected by the man's message as he can, but there's a sudden pink in his cheeks and the top ridges of his ears, and he looks a little giddy for someone asking something innocent.]
DUDE YOU DON'T - [Nope. Try that again. Ahem.] Sorry about that. Sometimes I can't, uh. Control the. Uh. Volume? Of my voice.
I don't have an embarrassing question but mostly it's that I was sorta thinking, hey, we get a do-over here, might as well go all-out. The name I was given at birth is kind of silly, even though I've gotten used to it, but I might as well try to make it more Average Joe, you know? [Is it working? Does he seem casual yet?] Uhhhhh. Well. They're pretty much defunct now, where I come from. They're like. Uh. Tapes? You could watch movies and stuff. Record your own and re-watch them. But they were replaced by DVDs, which .. might stand for Digital Video Disc? I actually have no idea, I made that up. And those were half-replaced by a thing called a Blu-Ray. I don't really know what the difference is between the two since they're both discs, except Blu-Rays are better quality.
ALSO, Raiders of the Lost Ark is just like, one of the best movies from my world. You .... uh. You look startingly like .. the uh. Main character. Indiana Jones. Like.
Dead ringer.
Yeah, happens all the time, doesn't it. [There's a note to Han's voice that says he absolutely does not believe him at all.]
Why, what did your parents stick you with that's so embarrassing? [There is so much morbid curiosity there.] And, y'know, you wouldn't be the first person who's said something like that, except she said something about a—Harley-son Ford, is that right?
[Han, you know his name, you can pronounce his name, quit playing dumb just to see how this kid will react.]
video;
Can't say I know how to go anon on this thing, no. [He's generally too shameless for that anyway. In fact, here's a shameless plug:] But you can totally submit anonymous questions for my relationship and sex advice column, just sayin'.
Also, you have excellent taste in movies, dude. I'll keep an eye out. We could even do a movie marathon or something.
I don't wanna know anyone who doesn't at least sort of like Raiders of the Lost Ark. I'd be up for that, man! I promised a space-faring guy, who'd never heard of it, that I'd try to find it for him. So if you do find it, hit me up, and I'll hit him up, and we can have a marathon sesh.
Oh man, I love watching that kind of stuff with people who've never seen it before. This world can be kinda hit-or-miss with popular media, I've noticed, but hopefully we can find a copy somewhere. Stuff like that should totally be required viewing for new-comers!

What's a millenial? Is that some kind of race I don't know about?
Uh. It's.
Um.
A term. Used to be used matter-of-factly, but now it's sort of derrogatory because Millennials are killing everything from eating out at restaurants to buying houses to movies to whatever. But it's people from earth who were born at a certain time. I don't remember the exact years, and to be honest, I'm not even sure I'm 100% Millennial. I think I might be on the cusp of it.

[ He still can't believe he'd missed Elena's name attached to her messages. Oops. ]
What's so special about that particular Indy film? What about the others? They probably feel left out.
[He laughs, holding his hands up in surrender.] I mean, aside from the second being sorta kinda really racist? It's mostly just that I wanted to find the first to show someone who'd never heard of them before. And then go in order, if I can find the others. Because a life lived without having seen Indiana Jones is not a life lived well. Or something like that.

What's a millennial?
[voice]
[He laughs a little.] Ah, it's a term that was used back where I come from, for people of a certain age group. There were Baby Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, Millennials. It's for people born from like, the early 1980s until the mid-2000's, pretty sure. Like, 2004 or 2005.
