[ the camera clicks on to kanaya sitting behind the bar in the devil's nest, the only light in the room emanating from her skin, illuminating the bar and casting long shadows around her. hard to say whether she's having a late night or a very early morning, as she tends to do both.

there's something a bit off about her manner, a little lazy and limp, slouching a bit much for her generally prim posture. it's probably related to the glass of too red wine in front of her, the half-empty bottle of cabernet sauvignon next to the metal flask she seems to carry everywhere. her tone is quiet and pensive, putting a lot of effort into keeping her words coherent. it's an important topic she's discussing today.
]

So I think we can all recognize at this point that Earth is very fond of its holidays, but of the lot I think it's Mother's Day I find the most...challenging. On my worst days, I'd regard it with hostility, as if the very idea that motherhood is something to be celebrated is in itself obscene. But, that. That isn't right. My problem has always been that I've grown too bitter, it clouds the perspective. And even I have had the good fortune to know many lovely mothers, even if I wasn't able to become one myself.

[ her eyes have been lingering on her drink this whole time, swishing it around in a circle, but now she finally looks at the camera. ]

What I mean to say is that...it isn't unlikely, or even uncommon, for others to have more pleasant associations with motherhood. Happier stories to share, enough to fill an entire day. So, I'd like to hear them, if you're willing. However big or small it may be, I'd just like something to paint the occasion in a more positive light.

[A new arrival declares herself, her voice authoritative and strong like steel, but also as beautiful as the chime of a bell.]

A most unusual summons...

[There was no magus, no ritual, and no Contract. There was, however, a war to be fought, or so she has been told, but this war was unlike the one she had agreed to fight back home. The prize was not the Grail. In fact, there was no guarantee the holy cup even existed in this world.

Her wish, then, might not be granted here, so what indeed was her motivation to wield her sword in the name of these people?

The answer is simple: the Knight's Code.]

...nevertheless, I offer my pledge.

To obey and serve valiantly and faithfully those in positions of authority; to protect the weak and defenseless; to provide with relief whomsoever should require aid; to live for honor and for truth; to refuse reward for my services; and to never turn my back upon my enemies nor fail to see through to completion any enterprise begun.

[Would that she could offer more these strangers of a new era, but already she has offered them all that she is and all that she is capable of.]

My name...is Saber. And my sword is yours.

[ In a vague attempt to not be depressed on Mother's Day Traci decided teleporting out of the country would be a brilliant decision. It's a way to pass the time and a way to distract herself. Besides, she told a few people she'd try it. So far it's gone okay. She's smiling brightly and leaning against her staff as she ]

So we all know if you leave the country you get AWOL status tattoo. I love how it changes, it's kinda cute in a creepy stalker way. [ Really creepy actually. ] I got a quick automated message too. Nothing too serious though. It looks like maybe it's not that big of a deal if you only spend a really short amount of time somewhere else. So far so good.

[ Although it looks like that may be changing. Off in the distance some men in what looks a lot like men in uniforms are approaching. They're speaking another language very harshly that can't quite be made out right now. Traci heard them though and she snaps her head around quickly to face them. They get a wave and her acting like there is absolutely nothing weird about her being there or her with her big stick. It's not hard for her to get that they're not happy though. ]

It's no problem guys, I won't be here long.

[ Actually, Traci it is a big problem! ]

Where did you come from? [ One gruff looking man demands in a thick accent. A very thick accent. More approach and Traci gets the distinct impression that this is her out time. ]

That is really not going to be a problem! [ They get closer and they talk among themselves quickly. ] You are to come with us. [ The same one says. Traci still seems perfectly chill and just sort of shrugs it off. ]

I don't think so. [ And with that the video just ends. Any responses will come once Traci has teleported herself back to safe grounds in her place in Heropa. ]

[ ooc: Postcards! Klarion gets this one, Kasumi gets this, Thane gets this, Jaime gets a postcard from everywhere she went including a bunch from Mexico (sorry Jaime), and Olivier gets this. If your character has some CR with Traci you can assume they got a postcard or some pictures! The postcards all just appeared magically because whatever to you post office ]

[The feed clicks on to someone's indignant face. In the background there are bustling sounds of shoppers shopping at a mall. Anyone who frequents one of the larger malls in downtown Heropa will know exactly where this guy is.]

Oi. Someone wanna tell me what this is, exactly?

[He holds a plastic soda cup up into view, the likes of which you'd get at any fast food joint. Nothing unusual about it, really. There's the sound of sloshing liquid and ice as he shakes it at the camera for effect.]

They said this was the smallest they had. It's huge!! What the hell! I don't want this much! [Someone laughs off camera, and Nakatsu makes a face at them. Shut the hell up! He's talking to people!

The cup gets put down, and the spiky bleached hair comes back into focus.]

Anyway- that's not what I wanted to say. I want to ask about changing the stupid jobs that the government gave us, 'cause there's no way I'm coaching a bunch of elementary kids in volleyball - [Volleyball, right guys?] - and I wanna know just how these powers we got work, because I can't figure mine out. I've never had super powers before, you know?

[Okay, so that's two questions. But that's what these communicators are for, right? He's been watching everyone else post for a few days, and clearly this is just a glorified internet chat board where people talk about whatever the hell they like. It's nice.]

Oh! And what are we supposed to do if we lose our communicators because I sure as hell can't speak English if it comes to that.

Wow, there's a lot of new faces lately, aren't there?

[ Hi Netowrk, here's a vauely, faintly scarred face looking at the camera for you. He grins, slightly, as if he knows that this is the busiest time of the month, and that there have been plenty of arrivals since he showed up a while ago.

But really, he's just making conversation, anyway. There's a look on his face, a touch apologetic.
]

I'm going to go ahead and apologize, for those of you who showed up in De Chima, and I didn't personally greet. That's my mistake, I got caught up a bit in negotiations, and I tend to...not really do this social media shit very well. [ A beat. ]

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Mitchell Hundred, and if you live here, you'll figure out pretty quickly that I'm the import/native ambassador for the city.

What that means? Well, I'm trying to bat for you folks, which is not exacly as easy as it sounds. For obvious reasons. Things like what happened recently can just...people get worried, and for good reason. But we can do small things to help out with that, to make us seem more normal the longer we're here, and that starts with us. Being...well, dazed and confused doesn't really do a lot, I'm afraid. Believe me, I know it's fucking hard, especially when you show up to a place that's totally outside of anything you've ever seen in your life.

So recently, I asked the various government agencies in De Chima to allow me to work with you guys to help us make a community center. It's not going to be anything big, to start out, but it's something. Ideally, it'll be open to anyone, whether you're in De Chima or not, but obviously that's a bit of a logistical issue, if you can't just port in. Unfortunately, they're not willing to pour taxpayer dollars into it -- which isn't surprising, honestly, with how the economy is -- so we'll have to bankroll it ourselves.

So I guess, unfortunately, I'm also asking for donations today. Donations and volunteers, actually. If you've got something you can teach other imports to do, I'd love for you to sign up when it's open. Even if it's basic, like "how to cook with a stove", I've seen people come in who were using fire pits to cook on, so basic lifeskills are just as needed as anything else.

[ There's a pause. ]

So if you'd like to help out, please let my office know, and if you have any questions, I could probably answer them. I've been doing this import shit for a while, so I'm always willing to offer at least as many answers as I can provide.

[ Another, slightly longer pause, as an afterthought: ] And to those who knew him, I haven't heard from Rick Bradbury, so I'm pretty sure he's been ported out, if you were looking for him.

[There's a new face with bouncy blonde pigtails waving happily at the camera. She's sporting a wide friendly grin.]

I figured I should do one of those "nice to meet you, get to know each other" things, since I'd just hate to miss out on a trend. And, well, it is nice to meet you! Probably! I dunno, we haven't done it yet, so you could totally suck for all I know.

But maybe you don't! So, hi. I'm Harley. Got any tips for a newbie? Y'know, stuff you wish they'd gone over when you got here. Pros and cons, lifehacks, that one weird trick they don't want to you know.

[She reaches to shut off the feed, but pauses as she remembers one last thing. And, obviously, it is the most important thing a girl should know.]

Oh, and for you Heropa folks. Where do you keep the fun in this town?

[No more anonymous prank calls on the network this time, Kay means business, and she's serious this time - a melancholy kind of serious. She is sitting at a malt shop in Heropa, staring balefully at her half-full chocolate drink. Given her mood, however, to her the glass is half-empty.

Kay folds her arms over the table and sinks into her chair until her chin is resting on her arms.]

Okay. Just so everyone knows, Mr. Edgeworth got ported out. Again. [She sighs, pouting.] I dunno if he's gonna bounce back like everyone else who got ported out and then popped back in, like me. And I dunno if he left any instructions for anyone this time around. [Kay raises her head, straightens up, and takes a sip from the crazy, loopy pink straw.]

...this wasn't exactly how I wanted to spend my belated one-year anniversary, but he's safer back home. For now...in case he'll be back. The Porter's weird that way. [A shrug, as she twirls her straw in what's left of her chocolate malt.]
