[ Kaneki is ready to make sense of what happened last month. He isn't sure how to even start this conversation, but he will do his best. Text is the chosen format for this post because he still feels panic every moment he talks about it. It wouldn't be fun to have a panic attack in front of the whole network. ]

I would like to talk about last month. I know currently we are all a bit lost and don't remember how we got to the Swear-In (Arrival Ceremony), but I'd like to speak about my experience and try to find out what happened.

Last month, on the 7th of September, I woke up in a whole different world. It was a world with imPorts and many familiar faces, but very different from this one; imPorts had taken over the place, formed factions and ruled. There was no government to answer to, there were no tattoos, and every faction had a Gate. [ maybe this sounds a tiny bit familiar. ]

I don't know much about alternative timelines, but it appears that's what that place was. I ended in the body of that world's Kaneki; I know this happened to some other imPorts, but not to all. And then I just suddenly woke up here again and I'm wondering if this is the original universe/timeline I was originally brought into since there are somethings that are different now.

Does anyone know what happened and what is happening? Has this ever happened before?

Okay. I've already been here like twice, so I don't need the usual stuff about how housing works, and swear-ins, and blah blah whatever blah. Buuuut it's been three years since I was last here, so updates? Updates would be great.

[ He swivels in his chair, reaching out to adjust one of the parts in midair. ]

Anyway. I'm Hiro and I'm a tech genius. Also apparently Stark bailed somewhere in the last three years, so I'm out of work? Which sucks. It's such a pain finding somewhere that will hire a teenager for actual work without it being an "internship" or crap like that.

[ A tiny flying robot drifts over, handing Hiro a can of soda. ]

So I'm changing it up. Freelance only. I can build pretty much anything if you've got the resources for it, buuuut robots and superhero armor are my strong points. Also built a wicked holodeck back home, just saying.

Does anyone feel as if they... lost something, coming here? I don't mean-- I don't mean that powers you had before were replaced, or anything like that, but... maybe you had a sense of purpose before that seems missing now.

[Jane feels silly. She huffs out a breath and her eyes go everywhere except for at the screen.]

I had it before, exploring the Congo with my father and helping him with his work... Even in that other place-- oh, it feels like a dream, now... I knew exactly what I was needed for.

[She looks down, shaking her head.]

I don't know. I think it would just help a little to know it isn't just me? Maybe?

i kinda got into a friendly argument with someone at the endeavor center when we were cleaning out the fridges and ended up betting that i could make something that's so gross my powers can't make it taste good

except it can't be something that's obvious like, idk, dumping some chicken and chocolate pudding into a food processor and calling it a day, or something inedible- actual food only

my first thought was sriracha bubble gum but i did an internet search and that's definitely a thing already and being hot doesn't automatically make something gross anyway??

and i'm running out of ideas quick, so i'd appreciate a nudge in the right direction, even better if it could work as a burger topping

Jaime tends to err towards the businesslike when he posts to the network, responsible for as many things as he is, and Ruka tends not to post video on the network at all, but they both seem to be making exceptions today, Jaime facing the camera with a wide smile. ]

Hey, everyone! We’ve actually got some good news to share today. Some of you might know this already, but...

[ He turns to glance at Ruka—who answers the look with a wordless nod of her own—then holds his hand up to show a ring on his finger. There’s a brief moment before Ruka mirrors the gesture, flashing the camera the sight of her gloveless hand and the matching sparkle of her own ring. ]

We’re engaged!

[ Ruka’s hand drops out of frame, but her smile broadens, a crinkle forming at the corner of her visible eye. ]

We have been for... a while, actually, but it never felt like the right time to say anything. Or... to go through with it. But no time is going to be perfectly stable, so... we’re setting the date. For next month.

It’s going to be great! Our ceremony is gonna be pretty private, but since we’re both gonna be 21 by the time we get married, we’re going to be able to have a real reception. You know, with legal booze and everything. So we hope we’ll see some of you guys there. It’s always great to have a reason to celebrate, though I’m pretty sure I’m the one who’s got the best thing to celebrate. [ Jaime, of course, looks immensely pleased with himself. ]

...oh, and I guess if you have any wedding planning tips, you can send them our way? That’s probably smart. I think it’s gonna be great no matter what though.

And, if anyone’s dying to gatecrash, just let me know ahead of time. [ She’s still smiling, though in a more teasing way. ] So I can pen you into the schedule.

[Toshinori's had this post percolating in his head for a while, but he's been hesitant to talk about it, not in the least because he's sure Midoriya, Momoyao and Present Mic would know right away that it was him and would (rightfully) be upset he didn't talk to them first. Heck, anyone he's told his story to might be able to piece it together.

But he has to know, and wants to hear the perspectives of people for whom he isn't All Might. So here he goes.]

I know there are some people here who come from worlds where superheroes are common, so you may know best how to answer this, but then again anybody from any world might have some insight.

Say that, back in your world, you were a great hero. Your life was dedicated to saving people, you loved to do it, and it was all you could ever see yourself doing.

Except something happens, your body just isn't strong enough to support your heroism any longer, and then you have to retire.

What do you do? How do you spend your time when you didn't plan on giving up the proverbial cape so soon? How do you still feel useful?

Hello. Um...my name's Izuku. Izuku Midoriya. B-but honestly, just calling me Deku is fine! It's, uh, probably easier. [He can't help the nervous chuckle that slips out, oh god why is he so bad at this.] I hope this isn't a weird question, but I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find, um, general information on local...powers? I think that's the usual term here...? Anyway, I know that they're not common here, but being able to look at any research or anything like that that's been done would be really helpful.

Sure, his own attempts at searching pretty much just turned up imPort fanwikis and blogs or stories about individual locals with Quirks, but surely something in the way of basic research has been done, surely, at least some sort of--]

--type cataloguing or tracking of manifestation patterns, it's just too helpful to not have been done, not just in a scientific sense but as an aid for education and social awareness, to say nothing of aiding with problems arising in basic infrastructure and social services due to lack of preparation for Quirk-related complications, especially in healthcare, plus being able to better provide dedicated support to individuals struggling with their Quirks when the underlying mechanisms are well understood...

[ Affronted would also be another good descriptor. ] When I was last here, I was balancing my studies with two different internships, and an apprenticeship! They couldn't even give me the dignity of giving me the job I had when I first arrived?

In any case, I'm on my way to the porter to go to Jeopardy now. I'm supposed to be living there. I never really visited the city much when it first appeared during my last time here. Does anyone have any advice about navigating Jeopardy? I'm more accustomed to Heropa, De Chima, and Nonah.

[So, Keith looks... harried. He's holding it together, but he's also very clearly tense. Now, Keith isn't exactly Mr. Carefree Happy-go-lucky at the best of times, but there is an added seriousness in his expression, even more intensity in the gaze that he fixes on the camera.

And, maybe most telling, he looks worried.]

Shiro is missing.

[He can't say gone. He can't. Not again. Even if he has been told how this place works, knows full well that people come and go. He knows that rationally, but rationality has never really been the ruling concept where Shiro is involved.]

I can't find him anywhere. I can't get him on the comms. He was next to me in bed last night, and then he wasn't. I didn't hear him get out of bed. He just vanished.

[He takes a breath. His voice is mostly level still, threatening to fracture at the edges.]

I know the Porters do things, but...

[He trails off and shakes his head, like he doesn't want to finish. Now, when it turns out that Shiro's port out was very temporary Keith will briefly wonder if he overreacted a bit, but since that hasn't happened yet, he thinks he's being very restrained. Nothing is on fire and he hasn't threatened anyone in the government yet. That's personal growth.]

There has to be someway to know for sure. To do something.

[His frustration bleeds through on the last word, down to the clenched fists that he forces open to reach out and turn off the video.]

Hi, I hope everyone who celebrated the holiday had a nice one!

So has anyone ever 'blipped' like they were here and then they were gone and maybe came back with a new power? I already didn't want the ones I had before. I'm pretty sure ignoring it isn't likely to work now. How did you learn how to use yours?

So... yay for avoiding the apocalypse, obviously. We have to honour the lives that were lost, but -- it could have been so, so much worse. We could have lost everything. Everyone could have lost everything. And we didn't. So I get why everyone's more into celebrating right now than anything else. I think we've earned that, after the past few months. Heck, after the storm itself. That sucked.

But I've been thinking. Every one of those gods wanted something different from us, even if I couldn't really tell what they wanted. Monsters are pretty old news. Bad memories are too, if you've been here long enough.

[ Jaime leans back a little. He's in his office in the Memorial Centre, surrounded by books, hair mussed as though he'd recently swept a hand through it, his other hand holding onto a pen and clicking it rapidly, fidgety as he is. It's small, but there's an unhealed cut across his chin, the hair there a little matted with blood. ]

But Clotho was something else. She asked for memories, or other sacrifices. What'd you guys give away? [ He tilts his head, considering. ] If you even remember giving something away. I know she asked for three things, but I can't remember all of them. I'm pretty sure that's by design.

[ The video opens to Haru's room, soft, feminine shades of blues and pinks all about her bedding and many pieces of her decor. As usual the plant stand is visible at the edge of the screen, a Venus flytrap sitting neatly with its trap currently closed. Rest in pieces, little fly.

Haru is laying on her stomach comfortably, a notebook to her side that's got different highlighted portions and a thicker textbook tucked underneath it. She glances into the feed with that ever affectionate smile of hers. ]

It seems for Americans turning twenty-one is an important coming of age event. It's the age you're legally and socially considered an adult, yes? Back home in Japan that age is twenty. In fact, there's a national holiday called Coming of Age Day surrounding that milestone. It's usually held the second Monday of January and municipal governments holds ceremonies at local city halls to congratulate and celebrate those becoming adults.

Participation has dwindled quite a bit over the years and nobody really dresses up formally for it anymore besides a lot of the women, but... I still think it's an important event to celebrate.

[ Her cheeks begin to a glow a shade of red, but her smile widens. ]

I'll be twenty on December 5th myself. Maybe not quite an adult in America, but officially exiting my teenage years. For that I'd like to celebrate this birthday with my friends once again and invite you all to a dinner party at my house in Heropa. We'll have food and drink, of course, but any suggestions would be great as well! I haven't held many birthday parties of my own choosing, after all.

[ And she adds, giggling: ] A furisode would be nice to wear for this occasion, but far too warm for Florida weather.

Considering peoples' arms are dropping off in the street and powers are going nuts and old battle wounds are blasting open in supermarkets and ruining all the clementines and shit, I think it might be good if everybody knew how to get in touch with their friendly local healer. Uh, I'm one of those, but I'm like, also just one demi-dude, so if any healers willing to help out would respond to this post with a text about how their powers work and what cities they're usually in, we can figure out maybe kind of a rotation? this is a touchy subject but are there any support networks in place for people to go to when someone they care about gets ported out? temporarily or permanently, or if they get ported out and come back with no memories i'm not asking because i'm in this situation currently personally but i'm seeing a lot of people who have their entire lives they built here ruined because someone has been pulled out by the porter not just romantic partners either. i'm sure we've all lost friends and family too. this is a unique problem to imports and i think maybe only other imports can really and truly understand what it's like. not sure. please advise.

Until she realizes what she’s doing, and puts her hand out of view, looking slightly to the side instead of directly at the screen. ]

Any injury we receive will just be healed by the nanites, right? How long does that take?

I've made a post about this last month, but it's finally done. If you are new to this, I will explain: long ago an imPort by the name of Kate Bishop started a FAQ for imPorts; ever since she was ported out, Will Graham kept it online for all imPorts to still use, even though out of date. I've decided to get back to this project and update Kate-san's FAQ with recent information. Keeping in mind what she had, I tried to remain neutral and succinct and this document will work to give imPorts the information they need to understand this place and live in it. I've also added helpful links to organizations and facilities ran by imPorts which could be very helpful to newcomers. THE FAQ VERSION 5.0 CAN BE FOUND HERE. If you have any comments, questions about the FAQ, or question you think ar important to add, please let me know. If you have any imPort organization and facility to add to the list, let me know as well, since I can't remember all of them. I'll try to keep this document up to date. Also - it's a bit too early for Christmas decorations ins't it...? [ seriously, Halloween was just a few days ago, why are the streets full of lights ]
